All about Alvita

I’m excited to be joining Miles Morgan Travel. Travel has been a huge part of my life, I left school at 16 and started as a YTS (for those of you who are old enough to remember) and after more than 30 years in the travel industry, I’m still doing a job I adore. I genuinely love helping people plan holidays that really matter to them.

For me, it’s never just about booking a holiday, it’s about listening, understanding what you want, and getting the details right so your holiday feels truly yours.

I’ve been lucky enough to travel to many amazing places over the years, including India, Kenya, South Africa, Bermuda and Jamaica, as well as lots of Europe ,especially Greece and its islands, which I absolutely adore. Every destination has something different to offer, and I love sharing those experiences with my clients.

Some trips have stayed with me more than others.

India was one of my earliest adventures. I travelled the country from top to bottom at the age of 13, experiencing everything from beautiful, luxury hotels to noisy third-class rail journeys, where the sights, sounds and energy were unforgettable. From the chaos and colour of the cities to the calm of staying on a houseboat in Kashmir, where local sellers gently paddled up alongside us selling carpets and fresh fruit and vegetables, India showed me just how varied and magical travel can be.

Kenya completely amazed me. After hours of driving, the calm was suddenly broken by radios crackling between safari drivers, and we raced across the plains in clouds of orange dust to see cheetah in the wild- I can still picture this now, it was magical.

Later, as the sun went down, we enjoyed quiet sundowners deep in the reserve, with no artificial light and a sky full of stars, those moments and memories will always be a wow!

South Africa is very close to my heart. I’ve been visiting since I was six and still have family there. I love Cape Town — from the incredible food scene to driving along the Camps bay coast, plus visiting Boulders Beach to see the penguin colony. Watching the sun set over Table Mountain and exploring the Garden Route are memories I’ll always treasure as they remind of my time there with my grandparents, sisters and cousins.

More recently, I travelled to Jamaica with my children, now 20 and 19. Sitting beneath a cotton tree at Benta Falls, surrounded by nature, and later hearing them thank me for giving them such a special experience was incredibly emotional and reminded me why travel is so important.

I also have a real love for Greece, the kind people, warm hospitality, beautiful beaches, fascinating history, amazing food and, of course, the wine. It’s one of those places that always makes you feel at home.

I’ve also recently experienced solo travel for the first time. It was a little nerve-wracking, but so rewarding and gave me a new perspective on travelling independently.

I’m experienced in cruising too, having sailed with Celebrity, Royal Caribbean, Marella and P&O Cruises, and I really enjoy helping people find the right ship and itinerary to suit them.
