All About Sam

I’m now five years into my career in the travel industry and have spent two wonderful years with Miles Morgan Travel. The excitement that booking holidays bring customers is infectious and brings me joy each day in our Cheltenham branch. I’m so glad I moved into this sector – I can’t imagine myself doing anything else. Travel has been a huge part of my life, having lived abroad as well as taking holidays across the world, and I have many fantastic travel memories that I love to share when helping customers find their perfect trip.

I find it difficult to pick a favourite destination: I don’t tend to revisit places, preferring to cherish the magical memories I make on my first visit. I get so excited to explore a new destination that the feeling on the second visit is never quite the same! However, Sardinia is an exception, as my husband and I got engaged there and bought my engagement ring there, so I’m reminded of our special first holiday there every time I look at my hand. Unlike typical UK tourists, we always stay in the south of the island where the mainland Italians tend to stay. Our last visit was a fortnight long, and we only came across four British tourists! The beaches are gorgeous, and in my opinion, are on a par with the Caribbean: soft white sand and crystal-clear water. The landscape is beautiful too, with no high-rise buildings across the skyline so the views of the natural world are completely unobstructed. Cagliari, the capital, is a lovely city too: small and easy to navigate with stunning architecture, primarily tall, colourful villa buildings – imagine Venice with Vespas rather than gondolas! I’d recommend it to any customers in search of a short flight to a picture-perfect corner of the world.

I also adore France and lived there for quite some time. I fell in love with the language and culture in one of my very first French lessons at 11 years old. I visited Paris or Orléans almost every year on French Exchange at secondary school, and happily slotted into the life of a French schoolgirl. I absolutely loved it: what’s not to love about a bowl of hot chocolate and a warm croissant in the morning? When I’d left school, I worked in an assortment of breathtaking ski and camping resorts across France. It was a really fabulous chapter of my life, and I still love visiting France now with my children! For customers, I’d highly recommend visiting the half-built bridge and Popes’ Palace in Avignon, the Dune de Pila – the highest sand dune in Europe – and, of course, the majestic Chateaux of the Loire, the best demonstration of historic French architecture. My list is endless though, so if you’d like to know more, please get in touch.

Recently I’ve been lucky enough to travel extensively, with family holidays to the Canaries, the Greek islands and even the Red Sea, but a big highlight for me was an eye-opening adventure in Ontario, Canada, experiencing the unforgettable sights and sounds of Toronto and Niagara Falls. If you’d like to find out more, check out my blog below!

I love nothing more than making my customers’ travel dreams come true, and hearing all about their experiences on their return, ready to book their next adventure. If you’re in search of the holiday of a lifetime, I’d love to meet you in our Cheltenham branch.
