23rd June 2017: On a bright, sunny June day, I was fortunate to visit the beautiful Devon coastal resort of Dartmouth where the Regent Seven Seas Explorer was tendered. As soon as we stepped aboard, I knew I was in for a treat. I couldn't believe just how much it really does live up to its reputation as 'the most luxurious ship ever built.' The designer touches, attention to detail and the floor space on board is noticeable wherever you are on the ship. The suites certainly don't disappoint either.
Balcony and Suites
Every room on board this magnificent vessel is a suite and every one of its 375 suites has a balcony. Suites start at the Veranda Suite and get larger and larger right up to the Regent Suite which is over 4,000 sq. ft. when you include its balcony space. There is definitely a suite to suit everyone as every suite includes the finest furnishings and are completed by the largest balcony's at sea; perfect for relaxing as the sun sets while sipping a glass of something sparkly from your complimentary mini bar. And, with 24 hour room service you'll never go hungry.
Luxurious Products
Each marble appointed bathroom has the prestigious L'Occitane and Hermes branded soaps, lotions and shampoos included so indulging is welcomed here. Plus, Regent supplies each guest with a plush, fluffy bathrobe and slippers.
Standard Facilities
The suites on board Explorer have everything you need at your fingertips, their standard facilities are absolutely amazing. Free Wi-Fi, an interactive flat screen television, complimentary films and media on demand, re-stocked mini bar and a welcome bottle of champagne are just some of the amazing things offered in each suite as standard. For someone like me, the most important part of the suite has to be the wardrobe, and with expansive walk-in-wardrobes in many suites on board, you’ll certainly not be disappointed. Below I detail a selection of some of the amazing suites available on board the Explorer.
Veranda Suite
At a comfortable 219 sq. ft. the beautiful Veranda Suite is quite unbelievably, the smallest category on board the Explorer. With a European king-sized (or queen-sized) elite slumber bed in every suite and a marble and stone detailed bathroom, this suite is completed by its 88 sq.ft balcony. While the smallest suite on board it definitely packs a big punch!
Penthouse Suite
This larger suite boasts space for up to three guests and balconies in this suite category range from 176 sq. ft. to an impressive 111sq. ft, not to forget the room space in suite of this size is 450sq.ft.
Explorer Suite
Standing at a very grand 665sq.ft., this glorious suite accommodates two guests and also includes one and a half marble and stone detailed bathrooms. Additional benefits in this suite range from a personal butler, daily canapés and a selection of bed pillow styles to priority online shore excursion reservations and delivery of up to three daily newspapers. In this suite and any suites above this category, you’re not only paying for style and comfort, you’re also getting the world renowned excellent service Regent is famous for.
Regent Suite
The largest and by far the most exclusive suite on board is the overwhelmingly exquisite Regent Suite.
Here guests get two private balconies with a custom-made treesee, heated mini-pool spa, two spacious bedrooms, two and a half marble bathrooms, complete with hot tub, private spa, sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi plus so much more within its expansive 3,026 sq.ft. and 1,417 sq.ft balcony space. This suite truly has to be seen to be believed.
From my experience on board I can confidently say whatever your expectations of Regent, it's Seven Seas Explorer will exceed them. I would go on board this incredible vessel again in a heartbeat!
