My visit to St Vincent and The Grenadines was a true tropical paradise - What a way to experience a new Sandals all-inclusive resort in the Caribbean, which opened in March 2024.
Everything is still so pristine, with a modern design throughout, luxury and relaxation at another level, it is nestled on the edge of the Antilles, with its outstanding beauty and surrounded by the beautiful rainforests.
It is tailored exclusively for couples and offered with unparalleled all-inclusive. It has it all, from those seeking a romantic setting, to adventure trips to book with Island Routes, watersports, or just pure relaxation with the use of the Red Lane Spa (the pool area, saunas can be used without booking any treatments). However, there is an extensive list of treatments on offer, and the scent with the spa music as you enter it will make you want to stay!
Culinary delights, with 12 dining options, offering a blend of local and international flavors to suit all. Here are just a few to wet your appetite, that I was able to sample.
The Buccan is a family-style dining restaurant with a table sharing seating arrangement. It will certainly test your taste buds with its local cuisine. It features a set menu, and they bring out an array of food to excite you.
Starting with melon with spices, relishes and chutneys, charred salad, fish, skewered chicken. Their lamb curry was my favourite, and the desert was the best dessert I have ever had ice cream with hot fruit and a coconut crumble on top, fire roasted pineapple on the side. Wow, a taste sensation!
Gatsu Gatsu, is a modern Izakaya restaurant, serving fresh Sushi and Japanese dishes, beautiful fresh food.
Parisol, the Chic Beach Club, offers an à la carte breakfast, with lunch and dinner, freshly cooked, from healthy salads, fish and meat options.
The Sora restaurant serves Italian American cuisine, such as Italian antipasti, pasta and much more. It offers a buffet breakfast and serves à la carte lunch and dinner.
The Jerk Shack, a firm favourite in other Sandals Resorts, serves authentic Jamaican Jerk such as chicken, fish in foil and my favourite, beef and chicken patties. This is available for lunch or in the evenings if you don't want a full meal. They also a great healthy option - veggie focused bowls called Imoro.
The dining options really are a gastronomic feast and a journey around the world to suit all palettes.
The restaurants are flexible. You can dine in one for your starters, then another for your main course and then a different one for dessert should you wish. I personally went to Gatsu Gatsu for a starter and then went to Buccan afterwards. The standard of the resort’s food was incredible.
There are 3 different categories of rooms: luxury level, club/concierge level and butler level. The rooms at luxury level are spacious and modern in design, all with a tranquility soaking tub on the balcony. Club level rooms have the same and some offer a media room to watch movies, or a fitness room. Some of the Butler rooms have private pools and they even have the two storey villas over the water, set in a quiet corner of the beach.
There is a range of watersports available; glass bottom boats, hobie cat, kayaks, knee boarding, snorkeling, wakeboarding, and paddle boarding. Waterskiing and scuba diving are available, however for an additional fee. Also, there’s lots of land activities and a great entertainment program, day and night.
Island Routes are a Caribbean adventure tour operator that works with Sandals, and have they own office on site to book any excursions you may wish to do, from sunset cruises, rainforest hike, a quad adventure through the rugged island terrains, walking and shopping tours, Mustique and Bequia Island hopping experience.
I did the Tobago Cays Catamaran Cruise and snorkeling adventure, which is a full day trip, where you sail and explore some of the uninhabited islands, from the beautiful white beaches and blue seas that were truly breath taking, we stopped to snorkel with the green backed turtles, so lovely to see in them in their natural habitat, with coral reefs and other marine life. We stopped at a small island where you could buy souvenirs on the beach and then had lunch at another island in a beautiful restaurant, Soho House. It was truly an unforgettable experience to treasure!
St Vincent and the Grenadines resort can be booked as a twin-centre. As it’s only a 25 minute flight from Barbados, it’s ideal if you want to see more and experience the different Sandals resorts.
Sandals Foundation, this was set up in March 2009 and it is to help Sandals Resorts to make a difference in the Caribbean. 100% of every dollar donated goes directly towards funding the impactful and meaningful initiatives within areas such as education, community and the environment.
Sandals also offer wedding and renewal packages, what better way to get married in the Caribbean, with family and friends or just the two of you.
Sandals have 17 resorts with 2 beaches resorts that are family friendly, with more to come. All situated in the Caribbean. I have now visited 5 of the resorts and all are a little different, so I am sure I can find the perfect one to suit you.
I can't wait to visit the next one on my list!
